Our family

My family

the people I'm so lucky to have in my life

Before introducing myself, I would like to introduce you to four of the people I’m most proud of and most lucky to have in my life: my beautiful daughters and son-in-laws, who are such an important part of my life. My youngest daughter and her husband are now also part of the Solbjerggaard team. As are my cousin and her wife. I feel so grateful to have them all on this amazing journey of realizing our mutual dream.

My oldest daughter, Emilia and her partner, Tim, live in Nijmegen in the Netherlands and my youngest daughter, Albertine and her husband, Lukas, live in Munich, Germany together with their two children, Max(imillian) and Emma (Emilia), my two beautiful grandchildren.

Albertine and Lukas have both studied at Hotelschool The Hague and all three of us share a deep passion and love for all things hospitality, connection and creating unforgettable experiences.

Lukas started out as an award-winning chef, working in a Michelin restaurant, prior to going to the Hotelschool and now works as a Director of Finance and Business Support for Intercontinental Hotel Group. And simultaneously, he supports us in making sure Solbjerggaard runs smoothly and is the most beautiful and inviting place to be.

Albertine is an important spill in Solbjergaards experience, while simultaneously working as a life and burn-out coach, ensuring people find happiness in who they are and the lives they live.

My family will frequently be at Solbjerggaard and together we will make your stay as pleasant, joyful and lovely as possible.

As for me, my name is Marie-Louise, born and raised in Vedbæk, north of Copenhagen.

On November 1st, 2023 I’ve returned home to follow my dream after 34 years of living in the Netherlands.

Ever since I was a little girl I have dreamt of creating a place for young and old. A place where no-one felt alone or would be afraid of growing old. A place where everyone felt appreciated and welcome and where everyone felt that their stories mattered as did their presence.

Now, I am living at Solbjerggaard, serving a number of customers in the Netherlands, while I build up Solbjerggaard to the place of my dreams and the dreams of my family.
